Hi, I’m Ben!

I am a IT Professional that currently works for one of the UK’s most accredited Microsoft MSPs. I work as a Team Lead in the service desk department and manage a team of engineers helping customers with Microsoft’s cloud solutions.

I have a passion for all things IT, but the area of IT I love the most is all things Microsoft modern work, from Exchange Online to Teams I am happiest when working on these systems.

Teams voice has been a particular interest of mine recently and I took great pride in achieving my Teams Voice Engineer Expert (MS-720) cert earlier this year.

I am currently working to improve my knowledge of Azure and I am hoping to pass the SC-900 exam in the very near future!

I started my IT career in Education IT, first working in a secondary school as an ICT Technician and then in a middle school as the ICT Manager. My time in Education IT taught me a huge ranges of things (especially how to squeeze suppliers for the best price!) and it is where I first fell in love with all things Microsoft.

I then moved into the private sector and worked my way up in the IT department of a top 200 law firm. Starting as a 1st line analyst in my seven years at the firm I ended up as the role of Infrastructure Lead and oversaw my first Microsoft cloud transformation projects, firstly migrating the firm to Exchange Online and then later moving from an on premise Cisco phone system to Teams Voice. These projects are what really sparked my passion for the Microsoft cloud.

When an opportunity arose to work for a pure play Microsoft partner, I jumped at the chance! I started at Transparity Solutions in August 2022 as a Third Line Support Engineer and then in May 2023 I moved up into the role of Service Desk Team Lead where I sit now.

Outside of my IT life I am a dad to twin boys, I am a Councillor on my Town’s Council and a Governor at my local Secondary School.

I have a keen interest in local history and am a co-founder and the Chair of Trustees at my local history society.

I enjoy playing video games with my friends and tinkering with all sort of tech.
